Linda Duits (1976) studied Political Science at the University of Amsterdam and specialised in political theory and political change. After her studies she took a year off to embark on a world trip to South-East Asia, Central America and South America. Travelling is her passion and whenever she can, Linda takes time off to explore more of the world, including now Africa and the Middle East (see website).

From 2004 till 2007, she worked on her PhD at the Amsterdam School of Communications Research (ASCoR). For her dissertation, she ethnographically analysed girls' culture in Dutch multicultural society. Since January 2008, she's been working as an Assistant Professor at the same university, focusing her teaching on research methods and her research on the uses of popular culture in religion. Her work has been published in, amongst others, the European Journal of Women's Studies, and presented at a number of (inter)national conferences.

Linda is an active member of the Center for Popular Culture, an academic junction for research, teaching and public debate about television, digital games, popular music, and football.
