The Queer Series is a set of public events that aims to highlight and contextualize queer elements in art, collections and archives. Organizers and curators are Bas Hendrikx and Léon Kruijswijk. The first part of a new trilogy of events was devoted to LGBTQI+ and the extreme right in the Netherlands. After a screening of Oreet Ashery’s Party for Freedom (2013), that zooms in on Pim Fortuyn, body politics, Geert WIlders and sexuality, Kruijswijk interviewed me. The evening was thus about nationalism, homo‐normativity, and the capability of art and popular culture to create queer spaces.
