This Tuesday May 12, students in gender studies of the University of Amsterdam organize a panel discussion on categorization in relation to gender and sexuality. Different panelists from a variety of disciplines, including the natural sciences, will shed their light on dichotomous oppositions between man/woman and straight/gay. As a fan of the work of Judith Butler, I am a fervent opponent of such binary thinking. It thus promises to be an interesting night. More info and tickets here.
