For master students of the Faculty of History and Arts of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, I gave a guest lecture on interview skills. Focusing on practical matters, I emphasized the importance of coherence between research question, key concepts and epistemology, and the type of interview one conducts. Furthermore, we discussed issues like access and location, all constantly related to: how do you get the best data out of an in-depth interview.
